Eduard Brassin 1:72 MiG-17 wheels

A detail accessory from the manufacturer Eduard (the Brassin range): a set of resin replacement landing gear wheels for a model of the MiG-17 aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an upgrade that replaces the kit wheels with more faithful castings. Resin holds crisper detail than injected plastic, so the fine tire tread pattern and the structure of the hub come out well. The wheels are usually rendered with realistic loading, slightly flattened where they touch the runway, so that once the aircraft sits on its landing gear it looks as if it really stood on the ground under its own weight. The set usually also includes a masking template for separating the hub from the tire when painting.

Use

• It replaces the original kit wheels of the MiG-17 model in 1:72 scale with more faithful resin castings.
• A realistic tire tread pattern and flattening under load give the landing gear a convincing look.
• First wash the mold release residue off the parts, then carefully cut off the casting block and level the surface.
• They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate, CA); plastic cement does not hold on resin.
• Sand and cut resin with respiratory protection and in a well-ventilated area.
