Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Smer depicts the interceptor version of the MiG-17 fighter fitted with onboard radar. It is a proven tool with a traditional layout of parts, decals and instructions. Thanks to its lower part count, the kit is also accessible to less experienced modelers looking for a classic Cold War subject.
The MiG-17 was a Soviet jet fighter that followed the famous MiG-15 and brought an aerodynamically improved wing and higher performance. The PF version (NATO reporting name Fresco-D) was an all-weather interceptor variant fitted with radar in a characteristic fairing at the top of the air intake and in the center cone. The type spread to numerous air forces and became one of the most widely produced fighters of its time.
Dry-fit the parts before gluing, and use thin liquid cement for the plastic. Carefully clean up the fuselage seams. We recommend a primer base coat and spraying with an airbrush; a metallic finish or camouflage schemes are both common. Apply the decals onto a gloss varnish to prevent silvering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
