This 3D-printed resin set from 77propeller adds two R-3S guided air-to-air missiles to a model of the MiG-21F-13 fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an armament accessory that replaces or supplements the base parts and raises the fidelity of the external stores.
The R-3S (NATO code AA-2 Atoll) was a Soviet infrared-guided air-to-air missile, inspired by the American Sidewinder. It was among the typical armament of the early MiG-21 and was carried on the wing pylons.
Separate the missiles from the print supports, wash them free of uncured resin residue and glue them with super glue. The fine surfaces of the fins are delicate - handle them carefully. Once a primer has been sprayed on, the resin takes paint well.
The set contains only the resin models of the missiles; the aircraft model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
