An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet supersonic fighter MiG-21bis in 1:72 scale. Besides the plastic parts, the ProfiPACK edition from Eduard also contains pre-painted photo-etch, self-adhesive masking templates and a decal sheet with several marking options; according to the manufacturer it offers six schemes for machines of various operators. The bis version was one of the last and most capable production variants of the MiG-21.
The MiG-21 was an exceptionally widespread Soviet second-generation supersonic fighter, built in large numbers and used by dozens of countries. The MiG-21bis variant represented the peak of the single-seat MiG-21's development: it received a more powerful engine and modernized avionics, so it served as a multirole fighter capable of air combat as well as attacks on ground targets. It remained in active service with the armed forces of a number of countries for many decades.
Use a thin modeling cement for plastic on the joints and treat the surface with a primer before painting. The pre-painted photo-etch makes rendering the cockpit and other details considerably simpler, and the masks supplied make clean spraying of the glazing easier. Apply the paints with an airbrush in thin coats; on the MiG-21 there is scope for emphasizing the panel lines and for fine weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
