Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet MiG-23S fighter (NATO code Flogger-B) in 1:72 scale from Academy. The model captures this single-engine fighter with a variable-geometry wing, with engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit, clear parts for the canopy and underwing stores; the wing can be set at various sweep angles. The exact contents and markings depend on the particular edition.
The MiG-23 was created in the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau as a replacement for the MiG-21, with the aim of increasing range, armament and the ability to operate from shorter runways. The variable-geometry wing became its key feature, allowing good take-off qualities as well as high speed. The type was built in large numbers, served with the Soviet Air Force and with a number of friendly countries and became a symbol of Soviet Cold War fighter aviation.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, then fill and sand the seams. Paint the cockpit interior before you close up the fuselage. Lay down a gloss clear coat before the decals; round the typical Soviet schemes out with a wash in the panel lines and gentle wear. Assemble the swing-wing mechanism carefully, so that it either stays movable or is fixed at the angle you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
