About product

MiG I-75 1:72 (Modelsvit)

A plastic kit of the Soviet experimental MiG I-75 fighter in 1:72 scale from Modelsvit. It is a short-run injection-molded model of a lesser-known prototype. The exact contents of the package follow the particular box; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

The real subject

The I-75 was a Soviet experimental interceptor from the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau of the late 1950s, developed as a supersonic carrier of guided missiles. It was marked by a delta wing and a large nose air intake with a shock cone. It stayed at the prototype stage, but it moved development on toward the later production interceptors.

Building and painting tips

With a short-run kit, dry-fit the parts first and improve the fit of the fuselage and the air intake. Mask the cockpit glazing and spray thin coats over a good primer. The metal surfaces of the prototype come out well with metallic paint or polished metal; use a gloss clear coat before the decals.

Who the model is for

  • Collectors of experimental and prototype aircraft in 1:72 scale.
  • Anyone interested in Soviet Cold War aviation development.
  • Modelers with experience of short-run kits.

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
