A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard intended for detailing a plastic model of the MiG-21MF fighter in 1:72 scale. The set is made up of parts in thin brass sheet that replace or supplement the simplified plastic parts. It is not an airplane kit and not a finished model, but an accessory for a base plastic kit.
The photo-etched parts refine the cockpit, the instrument panels, the seat belts, the grilles and other small features that injected plastic cannot render finely in this small scale. The model thereby gains a more three-dimensional and more faithful look, above all in the places that are clearly visible once it is finished.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and make the bends over the edge of a razor blade or in a photo-etch bender. Bond them with a small amount of super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the brass parts and paint them with an airbrush, hold the small elements with tweezers and work in good light.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
