An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet Mikoyan MiG-21MF fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Eduard, in a box focused on the fighter-bomber role. It is a modern tooling of Eduard's own with fine surface detail. Eduard offers this type in several editions (ProfiPACK and Weekend) that differ in the extent of the accessories and the number of finishes offered, so check the package contents against the particular edition on the box.
The MiG-21 was one of the most widespread supersonic fighters of the twentieth century, built in large numbers and used by dozens of countries. The MiG-21MF version was a further developed variant of the type fitted with radar and a more powerful engine; in the fighter-bomber role it could carry unguided and guided armament under the wings and the fuselage for attacks on ground targets. The small delta wing and the slender fuselage gave the aircraft high speed and agility.
Glue the plastic parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic and mask the cockpit glazing (masks tend to be part of the better equipped editions). Paint the cockpit carefully before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin coats; the camouflage and the natural metal surfaces of MiGs will benefit from accenting the panels with a wash and from gentle shading. Fit the external stores according to the instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
