Mirage 2000-5F decals for the anniversary of the unit EC 3-11 Corse

A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for the Mirage 2000-5F in the festive scheme the French unit EC 3-11 Corse prepared for seventy years of its existence. Anniversary finishes stay on machines only briefly, and modelers seek them out all the more for it: one sheet turns a standard gray machine into an item that catches the eye first in a display case.

The real subject

The Mirage 2000-5F is the modernized fighter version of the French Mirage 2000 aircraft. It is single-seat and aimed at air combat; compared with the older machines it received a more capable radar, a reworked cabin with larger displays and new armament for combat at medium range. In shape it stays recognizable at first glance by the delta wing without horizontal tail surfaces, which is typical of the whole Mirage 2000 family.

Advice on application

• Store the sheet dry and flat; a rippled carrier film is straightened only with difficulty on a model.
• Let the paint under the decals cure properly and clear-coat it with a gloss varnish; a matte surface turns white under the film.
• Apply large artwork on the vertical tail surface one piece at a time and let it settle before you set about the other side.
• Press the water out from under the decal with a soft brush from the center toward the edges and leave the surface alone for a day.
• Add the small lettering only at the end, so that it is not wiped off while the large artwork is being moved.

Who the sheet is for

For collectors of modern French fighters and for anyone who wants one conspicuous machine among the gray ones in a collection. The kit, paints, varnishes and softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
