A set of concrete barricades in 1:72 scale intended as an accessory for a diorama or for a base under a model. These are the elements that today stand at checkpoints, on closed roads, around entrances to compounds and at the edges of construction sites.
A vehicle on a base on its own has nothing to compare its scale against. A row of concrete elements along a road solves that problem: it gives the scene a clear edge, sets the direction of movement and at the same time tells the viewer that this is a guarded place. In 1:72 scale a few pieces are enough to turn an empty area into a definite place. The elements can be put together into a continuous row, set out in a slalom, or one of them turned over to suggest the result of an impact.
Wash and degrease the elements before painting. Choose a base rather toward gray with a hint of beige; purely gray concrete looks artificial. Bring out the edges with a dry brush, apply dust and dirt to the lower part and leave the top surfaces lighter, by contrast, because the rain washes them. Gluing them to the ground is not always necessary; pieces simply laid in place can be rearranged for photography. The particular gluing procedure is given in the instructions for the set.
