An injection-molded plastic kit of the French interwar Morane-Saulnier MS.230 trainer in 1:72 scale from Smer. It is an older, simpler mold that captures the characteristic high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear; the package contains clear parts and waterslide decals as stated by the manufacturer. The model is a good choice for a collection of classic aircraft.
The Morane-Saulnier MS.230 was a French high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear, used from the late 1920s above all as a basic trainer in French military aviation. It was known for its sturdy structure, good handling qualities and long service life; it also served in other countries and in civil use. It belongs to the typical trainers of its day, which look like biplanes but are in fact monoplanes.
With older molds, expect some flash and allow time for cleaning up the mold seams. Use a liquid plastic cement and finish the open cockpit and the interior before closing up the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and spray the colors with an airbrush; trainers typically carry prominent yellow areas and natural metal or period camouflage. Glue the struts and the landing gear accurately to keep the geometry right.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
