An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese army fighter Nakajima Ki-43-III Hayabusa, known to the Allies under the code name Oscar, in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby. It is a short-run kit with engraved surface detail and clear parts for the canopy. Check the exact contents of the box, the parts count and the marking options against the manufacturer's data for this item.
The Ki-43 Hayabusa, meaning peregrine falcon, was the most widespread fighter of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force in the Second World War. It stood out for excellent agility and a small turning radius, while on the other hand it had a light structure and at first weak armament and armor. The late Ki-43-III version received a more powerful engine and was used in the closing phase of the war, among other things in the defense of Japanese airspace.
With short-run kits count on more careful cleaning up of the parts and on adjusting the mating surfaces where necessary. Paint and highlight the cockpit interior and the glazing frame before you close up the fuselage, and mask the clear canopy while spraying. Glue with thin modeling cement for plastic, apply a primer and spray the colors with an airbrush, apply the decals over a gloss varnish and bring out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
