Masking templates for the Nakajima Ki-87 model in 1:72 scale, for crisp edges to the spray.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masking templates for the Nakajima Ki-87 model in 1:72 scale. The templates have shapes matching the parts of the model, so the laborious measuring and laying of strips of tape falls away and the edges of the spray come out crisp even on small areas, where masking by hand would be uncertain.
The Nakajima Ki-87 was a Japanese high-altitude fighter of the end of the Second World War. It remained at the prototype stage and never reached series production, which makes it more of a rare guest in the modeling range than an everyday type. It is exactly with machines like this that it helps to have the masking ready, because the kits tend to come in smaller runs and a mistake in the spray is hard to put right.
Apply the templates to a clean, dry and degreased surface before spraying and press the edges down carefully so that paint does not creep underneath. Spray in several light coats; a heavy coat creates a ridge at the edge that is obvious at first glance once the template is removed. Lift the template off as soon as the paint has set, not after it has fully cured, and pull it at an angle across itself rather than straight up.
The masking templates are supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
