Eduard Nimrod masks 1:72 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the British four-engine patrol aircraft Nimrod. It gives you sharp paint edges on the glazing and the wheels. This is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:72 scale is meant for a plastic model of the British patrol aircraft Nimrod. It is not a kit and not a model in its own right but a set of precisely shaped masks cut from thin yellow masking tape. The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want clean, sharp paint edges on the many fuselage windows, on the cockpit canopy and on the wheels, without having to cut the shapes out laboriously by hand.
The Nimrod was a British four-engine jet aircraft meant above all for maritime patrol duty and for hunting submarines. It grew out of the design of the world's first jet airliner and its engines were buried in the wing roots. Thanks to its large fuel load it could stay airborne for long hours over the ocean, searching for submarines and watching what went on at sea. It served with the Royal Air Force for several decades and reconnaissance and early warning versions were built as well.
Degrease the glazing before you apply the masks and let it dry. Lift the individual masks off the backing with tweezers and lay them on the canopy frames, press them into the edges and fill any gaps with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in two thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge of the mask. The wheel masks separate the tire from the rim. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at a sharp angle.
The package contains only the masks. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included unless stated otherwise.
