An injection-molded plastic kit of the American fighter P-51D-5 Mustang in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Eduard, in the ProfiPACK edition. Alongside the plastic parts there are pre-painted photo-etched parts for the interior, self-adhesive painting masks and a decal sheet with several marking options. The tooling captures the early production D-5 version with its characteristic features.
The P-51D was one of the most successful fighters of the Second World War, famous for its bubble canopy and for its long range thanks to drop tanks. The early D-5 sub-version was marked by its shape before the dorsal fin was added and by a propeller without cuffs. The Mustang escorted Allied bombers deep over the territory of Germany and also made its name in the Pacific.
Glue the small plastic parts with liquid cement, and attach the pre-painted photo-etched cockpit parts with super glue. The natural metal finish of many Mustangs calls for a quality smooth base and a metallic paint or metal foils; the masks supplied make the glazing of the bubble canopy easier. Do not forget to polish before spraying the metallic shades.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
