An MH models accessory with pre-cut masks for the glazing of a model of the single-engine all-metal Northrop Delta in the Mk.II and Mk.III versions, in 1:72 scale. This type has a long cabin with a row of side windows and the pilot's position set high above the wing, so the framing forms a prominent element of the whole model. The masks are transferred onto the clear parts and once they are sprayed over, the framing is left straight and even. The masks are cut to fit the Special Hobby kit.
The Northrop Delta was created in the 1930s as a fast single-engine all-metal aircraft with a smooth skin, that is, as a technologically advanced design for its day. Canadian service gave rise to the Mk.II and Mk.III versions, which differed from the American machines in modifications for harsh northern conditions. The aircraft were used for photogrammetric survey, patrol and liaison flights, and some of them served on floats. It is precisely this combination of wheeled and float operation with Canadian equipment that makes the Delta a rewarding subject for modelers looking for something other than the usual fighters.
First wash and dry the clear parts so that a mask holds. For long straight frames it holds that it is better to lay the mask down at one end, align it along the edge and only then press the whole length home. Run a blunt tool along the edges. Spray thin coats and let the paint set between them, as otherwise it is pushed under the edge of the mask and the edge is blurred. Removal is easiest while the finish has not fully cured.
This is an accessory for a build, not a model. The kit and paints are not included in the package.
