Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set for a model of the twin-boom OV-10A Bronco in 1:72 scale. It is an aid for painting, not a part of the model: the shaped masks are applied before spraying to the surfaces that are to stay clean, and lifted off once the paint has dried. The cut-outs match the parts of the ICM kit the set is used with; with another maker the shapes differ.
The Bronco has unusually extensive glazing. The crew cabin is glazed almost all the way round, including the side and lower panes, and the frames between them are narrow. In 1:72 scale an individual pane works out at a couple of millimeters, and cutting tape by hand over such an area almost always ends in an uneven edge or a shifted frame. In this scale a shaped mask is more a necessity than a convenience.
Lift the masks off the sheet with the tip of a scalpel; your fingers cannot reach them at this size. Before applying, hold the part up to the light and check that the mask sits on the frame and does not overhang into the clear area. Apply the paint really thinly, because in a small scale even a thin coat apparently widens the frame and the cabin then looks heavy-handed. Work from the largest pane to the smallest; as the free space shrinks it is easier to keep your bearings on the part. Once the mask is off you can touch the frame up with a fine brush.
The package contains masking sheets. The model, paints and glue are not part of it.
