Quickboost P-38 Lightning – gun barrels 1:72 is a set of resin barrels for the nose armament of P-38 Lightning models. It is a detail accessory, not an airplane model.

This detail set from the Czech maker Quickboost (the Aires workshop) brings resin barrels for the concentrated armament housed in the nose of the Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter, in 1:72 scale. The cast barrels have a crisper shape and finer muzzles than the plastic parts from the kit. The set is a replacement part, not a stand-alone model.
The P-38 had its armament concentrated in the front of the nacelle, which makes the barrels a prominent and clearly visible detail. The resin replacement takes the place of the coarser plastic and refines the nose; a small but effective improvement that shows well from the front.
Separate the thin barrels from the casting block carefully with a fine saw. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Dark steel or burnished metal with discreet highlighting is a suitable finish; use respiratory protection when sanding resin.
The set holds only the resin barrels. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
