Replacement wheels and paint masks for a model of the Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American single-seat fighter from the time of the Second World War and a conspicuous exception among its contemporaries. Its engine was mounted in the middle of the fuselage behind the pilot and the driveshaft ran forward beneath the cockpit floor to the propeller, so heavy armament could be fitted into the front section. The cockpit was entered through side doors as in an automobile, and the landing gear was tricycle with a nosewheel, which at the time was an unusual feature on a fighter. A large share of the machines built went to the Soviet Air Force, where the type proved itself.
The set joins two things: replacement landing gear wheels and paint masks for them. The wheels replace the parts from the kit and are supplied as finished replacement parts, while the masks serve to separate the color of the hub from the color of the tire without laborious outlining with a brush.
Cut off excess material with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that the shape of the tire does not suffer. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting, otherwise paint holds unreliably. Stick the mask onto a dry base coat and always before spraying the next color, press the edge down with a wooden stick and peel it off after spraying while the paint is still fresh. The specific procedure is given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
