1:72 P-400 Airacobra Canopy Mask is a set of masks for the cockpit glazing of the export version of the Airacobra in 1:72 scale. Intended for the Arma Hobby kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The cockpit of this type is unusual in that it was entered through side doors as in an automobile. The glazing therefore consists of the windscreen, side windows in the doors and rear panes, which is quite a puzzle for painting. The set makes this task easier. The target kit is Arma Hobby.
The P-400 was a version intended originally for British orders and differed from the home form mainly in a cannon of twenty-millimeter caliber in the axis of the propeller. The British did not take to the machine much, so a large part of the delivery ended up with American units in the South Pacific. Over Guadalcanal it turned out that without a turbocharger the aircraft suffers at high altitudes, but in attacks on ground targets and ships' boats it did an enormous amount of work. The engine housed behind the pilot and the nose gear made it a very unusual design for its day.
If possible, leave the side doors to be glued in after spraying; you will reach the frames more easily. Lay the cockpit shade on before the top camouflage and check the transitions around the small panes against the light. It also pays to think through in advance whether the doors will be open on the finished model.
The masks are supplied on their own; choose the kit of the aircraft separately.
