Eduard 1:72 P-40E masks is a cut self-adhesive masking set in kabuki tape for masking the cockpit glazing and wheels of a model of the American fighter. It is not a model but an accessory that makes painting easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds precisely cut self-adhesive masks in fine Japanese kabuki tape for a model of the Curtiss P-40E fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory that makes masking easier and more accurate while spraying paint.
The masks are stuck onto the canopy frames and the wheel hubs, so that spraying leaves the glazing clear and the tires free of paint. Kabuki tape conforms well to curved shapes, holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. The canopy frames thus come out sharp and straight with no cutting of tape by hand.
The Curtiss P-40E was an American single-seat fighter with an Allison V engine; in British and Allied service it carried the designation Kittyhawk Mk.I. It became known for its use in North Africa and the Pacific and often for the predatory shark mouth painted on the nose.
The set holds only the cut masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
