Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-engine P-51C Mustang fighter in the British designation Mk III, in 1:72 scale. The manufacturer is the Polish company Arma Hobby, which has long concentrated on small scales and draws the molds for them with fine engraved paneling. The model is supplied as a classic kit to be glued and painted.
The P-51B and the P-51C are the versions of the Mustang with the Packard Merlin engine, that is with a two-stage supercharger, boosted high-altitude power and the characteristic intake under the fuselage. They are told apart from the later P-51D at first glance by the glazing, as the cockpit has a framed stepped canopy instead of a bubble one. The Royal Air Force took these machines on under the designation Mustang Mk III, where a sliding Malcolm Hood canopy was often fitted for a better view. The Merlin-engined Mustang was used above all for long-range escort, thanks to the combination of a low-drag airframe and a large fuel load.
A small scale forgives little, so sand the fuselage joints and the leading edges of the wing carefully. Prepare the cockpit with its framed canopy in advance, because masking the framing is the most laborious part of the build on this version. Glue with thin cement for plastic, so that the fine engraving is not flooded. Spray gloss varnish before the decals and knock the finish back to matte after them according to the scheme you choose. Spray the metal surfaces with an airbrush over a smooth base, because with polished aluminum every bit of unevenness shows.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
