A colored interior set for the P-51D Mustang, early version

This accessory from the Quinta Studio brand is intended for a model of the American fighter P-51D Mustang in 1:72 scale, and specifically in the early state of the cockpit. The details are printed three-dimensionally and already in color, and decal paper forms the carrier. In the box there is an accessory, not an aircraft; you have to have a plastic kit of your own. How many elements the set holds and by what technology it is made is not given by the maker in the name, and so nothing of the kind follows here. It is based on the dimensions of the Eduard kit.

The Mustang with a bubble canopy

The D version is the best-known form of the Mustang. It brought a lowered rear fuselage and a bubble canopy, which finally gave the pilot a view to the rear, and six heavy machine guns in the wing. Under the cowling worked a Merlin V engine built under license in the United States; it was precisely this that turned an originally average machine into an escort fighter able to fly with the bombers as far as German territory and back. The word Early in the designation refers to the earlier production blocks, which differed from the later ones in details of the airframe and of the internal equipment.

When the modeler will value the set most

The bubble canopy of the Mustang is clear and large, so you can see practically the whole cockpit. That is exactly where it pays to invest time, and a colored printed interior saves the laborious painting of dials, harness straps and side panels. The procedure is described in the maker's instructions, which accompany the set. Decal softener has no place in this procedure; it would damage the printed resin.
