Plastic kit of the famous fighter aircraft P-51D in 1:72 scale from the Hobby Boss Easy Assembly range. The kit has a low part count and large combined parts, so it builds quickly and easily. The designation Mustang IV corresponds to the P-51D as flown by British forces. The package includes a clear cockpit part and decals for two color schemes.
The P-51D was the most numerous version of the Mustang, and its trademark feature became the bubble canopy with a cut-down rear fuselage, which gave the pilot an excellent view. As a long-range escort fighter it played a key role in protecting bomber formations. Power came from a V-12 engine derived from the British Merlin.
Thanks to the large parts, the build is undemanding; even so, clean up and fill the joints. Use a thin liquid modeling cement for the plastic and apply a primer before painting. The Mustang's shiny metal surfaces come out well with a metallic paint over a smooth base; colored bands and markings can be added with decals over a gloss surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
