This set brings a complete set of technical stencils for a model of the famous American P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. They are classic waterslide (wet) decals that add the small warning lettering, service markings, the labeling of access panels, filler necks and maintenance points to a model. It is exactly these details that give a finished model the scale credibility that kit decals often do not cover in full.

The real subject

The North American P-51D Mustang was one of the most successful fighters of the Second World War. Thanks to its Rolls-Royce Merlin engine (built under license by Packard) and its long range, it escorted bomber formations deep over German territory. Its characteristic bubble canopy and six Browning machine guns made it a feared opponent and a sought-after collector's subject.

Application tips

First give the surface of the model a coat of gloss varnish, so that the decals bed down without silvering. Soak the decal briefly, move it into place and press the excess water out gently. A decal softener is advisable, so that the markings follow the panels and rivets. Once dry, cover them with a matte or satin varnish.
