About product

P-51D Mustang wheels, oval tread, 1:72, Eduard Brassin

This resin detail set from the Brassin range brings replacement main wheels of the P-51D Mustang fighter with an oval tread pattern in 1:72 scale. The wheels carry faithful relief on the tire and the hub alike and are cast with a slightly flattened contact patch imitating the load of an aircraft standing on the ground. The oval tread is the second of the tread variants used on the Mustang in period. It is not a kit but a refining accessory for the landing gear.

Use

  • Wash the parts to remove any mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off at the contact patch.
  • They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) to the landing gear legs.
  • Turn the flattening of the tire perpendicular to the ground for a realistic impression.
  • Separate the tire and the hub by color; the hub is easy to mask.

Who the set is for

For modelers of the P-51D in 1:72 who want realistic wheels with an oval tread.

The set contains resin parts only. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package. Protect your airways while sanding.
