A supplementary 1:72 sheet with numbers and letters for Mustangs of the B, C and D versions. The printing is prepared for camouflaged machines and holds victory marks as well.

Early Mustangs in Europe wore an olive upper finish and a gray underside. On such a surface dark letters would be lost, and identification was therefore drawn in light shades. This sheet is prepared in exactly that way; according to the data it holds numbers, letters and victory marks in a variant for a camouflaged surface.
What is interesting is that camouflage held on longer than is usually stated. A number of machines from older series flew in their original finish long after aircraft without paint began arriving from the factory, so both appearances could be met side by side in one squadron. A modeler therefore does not have to choose between periods but between particular aircraft.
The designations B and C refer to practically the same aircraft from two different factories, while the D brought a bubble canopy and a better view. Light markings behave differently on a model from dark ones: they show through over an olive base, so it pays to try their shade out first on a piece of painted plastic.
A matte camouflage finish has a rougher surface and films like to silver on it. Coat the area with gloss varnish, therefore, let it dry until the next day and only then transfer the markings. Once dry the whole model is matted, by which the difference in sheen is evened out and the lettering looks sprayed on.
