1:72 Pacific War USMC Tankers are figures of US Marine Corps crews for the Pacific theater. They fill out models of armored hardware.
Responsibility details are not available.
The US Marine Corps committed armored hardware in the Pacific in conditions that bore no resemblance at all to the European theater. This set adds a human dimension to such machines: without a crew a tank in a cabinet looks like a model, not like a scene.
Advancing across the individual islands meant landing from a deck straight into a combat situation, a minimum of room to maneuver and very short distances between the opponents. Armored vehicles there filled mainly a supporting role for the infantry, and their crews worked in extreme heat, which also affected the way they dressed.
A humid tropical setting can be suggested by a fine sheen on the face and the neck, but carefully: a few spots are enough, otherwise the figure looks as if made of plastic. Divide the green shades of the equipment into at least two tones, one for the trousers and another for the blouse, because a uniform green reads flat. Instead of the classic dust, use a darker earthy glaze matching damp soil.
The castings come with no color treatment and with no accompanying hardware.
