A resin detail set for models of the British Phantoms of the FG.1 and FGR.2 versions in 1:72 scale. These aircraft were powered by Rolls-Royce Spey engines, which compared with the American Phantom versions have wider and characteristically shaped exhaust nozzles. The set replaces them with a faithful casting in the closed position. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory.
The British Phantoms FG.1 (navy) and FGR.2 (air force) differed from the classic F-4 precisely in their Spey powerplant, which led to a different tail and wider nozzles. Rendering this part faithfully is a typical recognition feature of the British Phantom.
Wash the parts free of any remaining mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and clean them up. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and sand resin with respiratory protection. Accentuate the metallic shades with a wash and a dry brush.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
