An injection-molded plastic kit of the Piper L-4 light high-wing aircraft in the float-equipped form. The military Cub thus gains a water undercarriage and turns into a small floatplane. The model from the Czech manufacturer Smer is an undemanding classic kit meant to be glued and painted.
The Piper L-4 was the military version of the light Piper Cub and in the Second World War it served mainly as an observation and liaison aircraft. On floats it could operate from water, which extended its use where there was no runway. Its low speed and modest space requirements made it a universal helper.
First finish and paint the cockpit, and only then close the fuselage up. Glue the floats and their struts carefully and check that they stand symmetrically and parallel. Join the plastic with liquid cement. Apply the matte finish with an airbrush or a brush and bring out the fabric covering and the lines with a fine wash and dry-brushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
