A set of national insignia for Polish aircraft, graded into several sizes. It will serve where a kit has no markings or where they have yellowed with age.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Polish national insignia came into being right at the start of the independent state and has essentially not changed since: four alternating white and red fields arranged into a square. Over a hundred years it has been through only small adjustments of proportion and edging, so the same symbol is carried by biplanes of the 1920s and by modern fourth-generation fighters alike.
This item is not tied to one subject. It offers a set of insignia in graded sizes, so you choose the dimension matching the machine you are building at the time: from the smaller motifs on the fuselage to the large insignia on the wings. It comes in handy above all where the original kit has no markings, where they have yellowed with age, or where you want to build a machine for which nobody has released a sheet of its own.
According to the name they are primarily intended for Polish jet fighter and attack machines, that is for older Soviet designs as well as for today's American types. Nothing, however, prevents using them elsewhere if the size fits.
The fields alternate around the perimeter, white with red. On a dark base you have to watch that the light part does not stay translucent, because it is precisely that which decides the resulting impression of the whole insignia.
Older prints from kits tend to be brittle and break. Apply a new insignia, therefore, onto a well-prepared gloss base and a few minutes after settling check whether the edge has lifted anywhere. This sheet is not tied to one subject, so it is sensible to keep it in reserve.
