A figure of an officer of the SNB, the National Security Corps, in the 1967-pattern uniform in its olive form, as it looked in 1987, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SNB, the National Security Corps, was the armed security force that carried out police duties in Czechoslovakia. The 1967-pattern uniform in its olive form is its best known guise, and the figure captures it as it looked in 1987. Even in a small scale the uniform is recognizable by its color and its silhouette, so a scene immediately takes on a period character.
One figure in 1:72 scale. A figure matching a man about 175 centimeters tall measures roughly 2.4 centimeters in this scale. It is a size where the silhouette and a clean transition between surfaces count, not the number of details. The range of parts and the way they go together are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Wash the figure in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, let it dry and lay down a thin base coat. In 1:72 scale it pays to paint with more contrast than the real thing has: lay the olive shade of the uniform down flat, put a darker glaze into the folds and go over the highest points with an almost dry brush loaded with a lighter tone. For the face, a flesh tone and one dark dot for the eye are enough. Choose the glue to match the material of the figure: parts that are not polystyrene hold with cyanoacrylate.
The figure suits small dioramas and models of period vehicles in 1:72 scale. One figure beside a vehicle or a building gives the scene its scale and tells the viewer where to look. The package holds the figure alone; paints, glue and a base are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
