Model Scene 1:72 Board fence, wider boards, angled cut is a laser-cut wooden part for building a fence of wide boards with ends cut at an angle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A scenery accessory from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene for dioramas in 1:72 scale. The laser-cut wooden part is taken out of its frame, assembled and set into a scene as a self-contained element. The version with wider boards has a coarser, more robust rhythm, so it suits farm buildings, barns, sheds and yards rather than ornamental gardens.
The top ends of the boards are cut at an angle. In carpentry this had a practical reason: water runs off a chamfered edge faster and the board rots less. Visually it creates a regular sawtooth line that sets the fence markedly apart from the version with a straight or an irregular finish. Wider boards mean fewer joints over the same length, so the fence reads as more solid and screens more. The same range also includes a version with narrower boards, and the two can be combined along a longer run.
Release the elements with a scalpel and sand the remains of the tabs with fine abrasive paper. Paint before gluing: thinned acrylic, a wood stain or watercolor leave the texture of the wood visible. On a wide board the difference between individual pieces shows, so mix two or three close shades and apply them irregularly, so that the fence does not look like a single piece. Run a dry brush in light gray over the angled ends, and a dark wash at the foot suggests damp and dirt.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The glue, the paints and the other scenery materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
