A wooden propeller for the Fw-190D 1:72 (IBG Models)

This 3D-printed resin accessory replaces the plastic propeller on models of the German fighter aircraft Focke-Wulf Fw 190D in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft, but a separate replacement part. The late versions of the Fw 190D used broad-chord propellers with wooden blades, and 3D printing makes it possible to bring out their shape and leading edges finely.

The real subject

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D, nicknamed Dora, was the long-nosed version of the famous fighter with a V engine. It was among the highest-performing German piston fighters of the close of the Second World War.

Use

• Carefully take the part off the print supports and clean up the surfaces.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
• Underpaint the wooden blades and bring them out with glazes for an impression of wood.
• Check the seating of the shaft into the engine adapter of the model.
