Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat trainer (instructional) version of the Spitfire in 1:72 scale from Czech manufacturer AZ model. The designation UTI denotes a trainer aircraft — the Spitfire was converted to a two-seat layout with a second cockpit for the instructor. This is a short-run kit (a limited-run mold) in a limited edition; the package contains plastic sprues (colored and clear) and a decal sheet. This version carries Soviet (Russian) training markings.
Two-seat trainer Spitfires were created by converting single-seat aircraft to allow pilot training and conversion onto the high-performance fighter. The rear pilot's position for the instructor meant a characteristic modification to the fuselage with a second, more raised canopy. Some foreign air forces, including Soviet ones, also used Spitfire Mk.IXs modified this way after the war.
As with short-run kits, expect more careful cleanup of the parts, possible removal of flash, and dry-fitting parts before gluing. Glue with thin polystyrene cement and fill seams with putty. Apply a primer before painting and use an airbrush. Fit the clear parts of both canopies only at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
