Rail Road Section from the Spanish brand MIG productions is a resin base with the relief of a track in 1:72 scale. It is not a vehicle model but a finished basis for a diorama: instead of laboriously laying ties and spreading ballast, you get a cast section of track that only needs to be painted and populated with equipment or figures.
The railway is a classic diorama theme: movements of equipment along a line, a scene at a crossing or a track under repair with a work gang. You can use the base on its own as a vignette for a single vehicle, or sink it into a larger diorama and finish the surroundings with static grass, small bushes and fallen leaves.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin and apply a primer. Paint the ties in shades of weathered wood, the ballast in broken gray-brown tones, and tie everything together with a dark wash. After painting the running surfaces of the rails in a rust shade, accentuate them with graphite or a metallic pigment; it is exactly that contrast that brings a track to life at once.
The base is supplied unpainted. Paints, equipment and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
