RF-4E Phantom II 7499, The end of the Film (1:72) is a sheet of wet decals from Syhart Decal for the black farewell scheme of a Greek reconnaissance Phantom.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet of wet decals from the French maker Syhart Decal reproduces the farewell scheme of the Greek McDonnell Douglas RF-4E Phantom II reconnaissance aircraft (serial 7499). The machine was painted black in 2017 for the end of operations of the Greek reconnaissance Phantoms and the disbandment of the tactical reconnaissance squadron. The package contains a decal sheet and color instructions. It is an accessory to a kit, not a model aircraft.
The RF-4E is the unarmed reconnaissance version of the famous Phantom II with cameras in the forward part of the fuselage. The Hellenic Air Force operated Phantoms for long decades; at the close of their reconnaissance career a striking black machine came about with the badges of the unit, the motif of a strip of film along the fuselage and lettering referring to the end of the film, completed by the silhouettes of the historic types the squadron had operated. The lettering refers to the long history of the unit reaching back to the 1950s.
Apply the small decals in 1:72 in smaller groups onto a smooth gloss varnish, with a softener for settling onto curved surfaces and into engraved lines. We recommend spraying the all-over black coloring onto a smooth base. Fix the finished markings with a transparent varnish.
This is a decal set, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
