A plastic kit of the Soviet eight-wheeled BTR-70 armored personnel carrier in its late production form, 1:72 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The BTR-70 is a Soviet armored personnel carrier on eight driven wheels that followed on from the older BTR-60 and carried the infantry of motor rifle units throughout the 1970s and 1980s. The hull floats, so the vehicle crosses a watercourse without preparation, and on the roof sits a small turret with a heavy machine gun and a coaxial machine gun. The late production form differs from the first batches in details of the hull and the external stowage.
A model in 1:72 scale, that is the scale in which a whole column can be built and still fit into a display case. The eight-wheeled chassis is the most conspicuous part of this subject and deserves the greatest attention during the build: the wheels have to stand in one plane, otherwise the model rocks on its base. The number of parts, the contents of the marking sheet and the color options are given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Dry-fit the parts before gluing and let the assembled sub-units dry properly before you move them. Paint the lower hull and the wheels before you fit them permanently; a brush will not reach them later. Lay the base coat down thinly so that it does not flood the fine engraving. A dusty, muddy vehicle looks more convincing than a freshly sprayed one, but do not overdo the weathered shades in a small scale.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
