The Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero was an Italian three-engine medium bomber of the 1930s with mixed construction (wood, metal, fabric covering) and a low-set wing. Its hallmark was the hump above the fuselage behind the cockpit. The machine first became famous as a fast transport aircraft and a holder of speed records, and in the Second World War the Regia Aeronautica committed it above all in the Mediterranean as a bomber and later as an effective torpedo bomber. It was powered by three radial engines.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue clean joints with liquid cement for plastic. With a three-engine layout, give attention to the correct seating of the engine nacelles and the alignment of the wing. Glue the glazing carefully with canopy glue. Apply a primer before painting, ideally with an airbrush. Italian aircraft wore the typical Mediterranean camouflage (sand and green patches) - after a gloss clear coat apply the decals and pick the panel lines out with a subtle wash, adding the wear of service.
