Turned metal pitot tubes and an angle-of-attack probe for a SAAB 35 Draken model in 1:72 scale from MASTER, for the mid and late versions.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory to a plastic kit, not an aircraft model. According to the manufacturer the set is intended for the mid and late versions of the SAAB 35 type and holds turned metal pitot tubes and an angle-of-attack probe. On this aircraft in particular the metal version pays off: the probes are long, they sit in an exposed place and the plastic version bends practically every time the model is moved.
The SAAB 35 Draken was a Swedish single-engine supersonic aircraft with a characteristic double delta wing that gave it an unmistakable planform. It entered service at the beginning of the 1960s and appeared in several progressively improved versions differing in equipment and in small details of the airframe. Differences in the instrument probes are exactly one such distinguishing feature.
Metal probes combine well with photo-etched sets, since the same bonding chemistry applies to both. Use thin super glue that wicks into the joint and apply it by drawing a pin along, not as a drop from the bottle; an excess would leave a white haze all around. Before the glue sets, check the part from the side as well as from above, so that it does not droop. It can be painted, but only over a primer for metal. When cleaning a finished model, always run the brush along the probe, never against it.
This is an accessory for modelers. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
