Eduard SBD Dauntless 1:72 is a photo-etched detail set for refining a plastic model of the Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber. It is a metal accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard serves to refine a plastic model of the carrier-based Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a set of fine metal parts that add details hard to render in injection-molded plastic. As a rule it enriches the cockpit and other small elements of a model.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was an American carrier-based dive bomber that played a key role in the Battle of Midway in 1942. Its characteristic features are the perforated dive brakes and the radial engine. It was among the most successful machines of the US Navy in the first half of the war in the Pacific.
The parts are separated from the fret with a sharp knife, bent over an edge and glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The color-printed self-adhesive elements are laid on without varnishing, while the unpainted parts are sprayed together with the model. Tweezers, magnification and experience are needed.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
