This injection-molded plastic kit captures the crane version of the heavy German FAMO half-track tractor. A rotating crane with a six-ton capacity is mounted on the bed of the vehicle. The box holds plastic sprues, one-piece flexible tracks or link-by-link tracks, and material to replace the crane cables.
The Sd.Kfz.9 was the largest half-track tractor Germany used in the Second World War. It was powered by a Maybach gasoline engine and served to recover and tow the heaviest equipment. The Sd.Kfz.9/1 variant carried a rotating crane with a six-ton capacity and was used for maintenance and assembly work, for example to change tank engines and for repair work in the field.
First assemble and adjust the chassis and the running gear, and only then the crane and the superstructure. The flexible tracks can be replaced with link tracks for a more faithful sag. Use liquid cement on the plastic. A working machine comes into its own with more pronounced weathering, oily traces and dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
