This resin set from the Quickboost brand, made by Aires, brings faithfully cast outrigger wheels at the wingtips for a model of the British carrier-based vertical and short takeoff aircraft BAe Sea Harrier FA.2 in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers, replacing the coarser plastic parts with finer castings.
The BAe Sea Harrier was a British single-engine carrier-based aircraft with vertical and short takeoff and landing (V/STOL). The FA.2 version was a modernized fighter variant with an improved radar and guided missiles. Because the main landing gear was arranged along the centerline of the fuselage, the aircraft rested on small outrigger wheels placed at the wingtips.
The wheels are small, so take care not to damage the axles and forks when cutting them from the casting blocks. First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue from the mold. Sand the cut surfaces with your airways protected. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with plastic cement.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
