A plastic kit of the Sherman V tank fitted with the FL-10 oscillating turret in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer UM. The unusual combination of an American chassis and a French turret is among the most interesting postwar conversions of the Sherman, and it will certainly not go unnoticed in a collection.
The Sherman was the most widespread Allied tank of the Second World War; the British used the designation Sherman V for the M4A4 version with the lengthened chassis. After the war these machines reached a number of armies and some went through extensive modernization. The best known is the Egyptian conversion, in which the original turret was replaced by the French FL-10 oscillating turret used on the AMX-13 light tank, armed with a 75 mm gun with automatic loading. Shermans converted in this way took part in the conflicts in the Middle East in the 1950s and 1960s, and to this day they stand as a textbook example of postwar improvisation with retired equipment.
Assemble and paint the running gear before you complete the hull. The real subject suits a sand desert finish; the overall impression is lifted by a light filter, a dark wash into the recesses and pigments imitating fine desert dust on the tracks and the bottom of the hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
