A resin detail set from the Czech maker Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane kit, but a faithful replacement for the SJU-5/6A ejection seats for models of the American F/A-18C and the two-seat F/A-18D carrier fighters. The castings carry fine detail of the harness, the firing handles and the headrest that a plastic seat cannot manage. They are usually completed with pre-printed or photo-etched belts.
The seats of the SJU series are modern ejection seats used in the carrier aircraft of the US Navy. They allow the pilot to escape across the whole speed range and on the ground. In an open cockpit they are clearly visible and are among the striking details of a model.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A seat comes out once a base coat is laid down, the cushions and straps are set apart in color and the details are gently brought out with a wash.
This is a detail set, not an airplane model. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
