An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Sopwith Swallow fighter monoplane in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Kovozavody Prostejov. It is a short-run model; it comes as a set of plastic parts with a decal sheet. The exact contents and the marking schemes differ between releases.
The Sopwith Swallow was an experimental monoplane that first flew in 1918 as an attempt to explore the advantages of a monoplane layout, above all in speed and agility. It was completed only as the First World War was drawing to a close, however, and the aircraft never reached production. It remains an interesting example of the search for new directions in fighter design at the time.
With a short-run kit expect to spend more care on cleaning the parts up and on the fit. Thin cement for plastic, primer and paint applied with an airbrush are recommended. The relief of the rib tapes can be softened by sanding if needed. Fit the glazing and the small parts at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
