Building and painting tips

Cut the excess material off a short way from the figure with a sharp blade and sand the remainder gently, so that no edge is left across the face or across the folds of the uniform. Wash and degrease the figures before painting and apply a thin base that will bring out the shape. In 1:72 scale it pays to paint in lighter shades than reality would call for, because a small area goes optically darker. Suggest the shadows with a dark washable shade in the folds and lighten the edges gently.
