A plastic kit of the high-altitude fighter Spitfire HF Mk.VII in 1:72 scale. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire HF Mk.VII was the high-altitude version of the British fighter, developed for combat at great heights. It differs from ordinary Spitfires in its pressurized cockpit, extended wingtips running out to a point, a retractable tailwheel and a four-blade propeller. It carries symmetrical radiators under both wings. The power came from a Merlin V12 with a two-stage supercharger, thanks to which the aircraft kept its performance where earlier versions ran out of breath.

Assemble the parts dry first, to reveal the places that will need sanding down. Paint the inside of the cockpit before you close the halves of the fuselage; once they are glued you will not reach it. The joints of the wing to the fuselage and the lower radiator fairings deserve filler and sanding, because that is where a step is most visible in a small scale. The extended wingtips and the four-blade propeller are the recognition marks of the version, so watch out for them during assembly and do not mix them up with the parts for other variants. Before the decals, go over the model with gloss varnish, and once it is dry unify the surface with matte varnish.
The model suits modelers who already have basic experience of gluing and filling and want a less usual high-altitude version of the Spitfire in their collection. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
