Resin round exhausts for the Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:72 scale from Quickboost - an accurate detail accessory, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Resin round exhausts for the British Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:72 scale from the Quickboost brand. This is not an aircraft model but an accurate replacement part for more experienced modelers that swaps the plastic exhausts from the kit for more faithful castings with the correct round section of the stubs.
The Spitfire Mk.IX was powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine, and during production two main types of exhaust stub appeared on it - round and the flattened fishtail type. This set brings the round variant, carried by some of the Mk.IX aircraft and later versions as well. It is a good idea to check the right type against the particular machine you are building. The part is meant to refine an existing Spitfire model in the same scale.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks with a sharp knife or a fine saw and clean up the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) - ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Paint the exhausts in burnt metal shades and bring them out with soot deposits.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for finishing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
