Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter of the Second World War in 1:72 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The model faithfully captures the elegant shape of the machine from the slender nose to the characteristic elliptical wing, with a realistic cockpit interior, exhausts and other details. The box offers two marking options for units that took part in the Battle of Britain.
The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the most famous fighters in history. The Mk.I version was the first production variant and played a key role precisely in the Battle of Britain in the summer of 1940, when together with Hawker Hurricanes it defended the British Isles. It was powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine and became famous for its agility and its unmistakable elliptical wing. It was the early Spitfires that became the symbol of British resistance.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close up the fuselage, and it pays to mask the clear canopy. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paints down ideally with an airbrush. Good acrylic or enamel paints suit the period British camouflage schemes; the engraved panel lines come out well after a light emphasis with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
